3. Rohit Sharma on scoring record-breaking century
With sadness, there were moments of joy for the Indian fans. The Hitman equalled Sachin Tendulkar for the highest number of centuries in World Cup history.
Ro-hits Records Again: Rohit Sharma shatters several records with another century in World Cup 2019
Both Rohit and Sachin now have six hundred in World Cups. While Tendulkar scored the six hundred in six editions, Rohit took only two to achieve the milestone.
He even has most centuries by any batsman in one single edition of World Cup. He became the first batsman to score five centuries in a single World Cup.
In India's last match against Bangladesh, Rohit had equalled Kumar Sangakkara's tally of four hundred in a single edition of a World Cup.
4. Rohit Sharma's reaction to Ian Gould's umpiring
The incident took place when Australian batsman Steve Smit was trapped on his legs by Bhuvneshwar Kumar in the 40th over. The ball from Bhuvi came back in off the deck. Smith was looking to work it to the on-side but played it down the wrong line.
The ball rapped him on the pads but the umpire didn’t raise his finger. India went for a DRS and got it spot-on. Smith’s 70-ball stay came to an end and he left the crease for 69.
It was at this moment, Rohit, who was close to him, made a hilarious expression, probably suggesting the goof-up made by Ian Gould.
