India cruised to an easy victory against Pakistan in their second match of Asia Cup 2018 on Wednesday. Chasing a target to 163 runs, they reached the destination with 8 wickets and 126 balls remaining.
Ambati Rayudu and Dinesh Karthik both remained unbeaten on 31 after Captain Rohit Sharma scored a half century while Shikhar Dhawan added 46 in a strong batting display after bowlers did their job earlier.
Pakistan were bowled out for just 162 runs after opting to bat first.
The Pakistani batsman could not give a solid start to their side as Indian pacer Bhuvaneshwar Kumar sent back their opening batsmen Imam-ul-Haq and Fakhar Zaman for meager scores of 2 and 0, respectively.
Shoaib Malik, along with Babar Azam, built a useful 82-run partnership to support the crumbling batting order of Pakistan, but the same did not last long as Malik returned back to the pavilion after a brilliant direct hit by Ambati Raydu.
None of the other Pakistani batsmen could stand firm on the pitch to keep the scoreboard ticking.
For India, pacer Bhuveneshwar Kumar and spinner Kedar Jadhav scalped three wickets each for the team. While Jasprit Bumrah picked up two wickets, Kuldeep Yadav took one wicket.
India made two changes in the playing eleven, bringing in Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya for Shardul Thakur and Khaleel Ahmed.
Pakistan picked the same team which played against Hong Kong.
