Kandy Tuskers finished on the wrong side of the high-scoring thriller in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) opener on Thursday.
Scoring 219 runs batting first owing to Rahmanullah Gurbaz's quickfire half-century and skipper Kusal Janith Perera's 87 (52), Tuskers had given themselves a huge chance of getting those two crucial points.
However, Dinesh Chandimal's 80 (46) and Isuru Udana's 12-ball 34 ensured that Colombo Kings equalled the Tuskers' total and the game went into the super over. Udana starred again for the Kings, this time with the ball, in the super over as he defended 16 runs which Andre Russell and Angelo Mathews' combination hit in the Super Over.
On the other hand, Dasun Shanaka-led Dambulla Viiking will kick-off their LPL campaign on Saturday.
