Sydney COVID-19 outbreak: 3rd Test at SCG still on, we are monitoring situation, says CA

Cricket Australia (CA) has confirmed that the third Test bewteen India and Australia of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy will not be threatened, even though there's a fresh outbreak of COVID-19 cases in Sydney.

CA said that they monitoring the situation very closely and at the moment the test which get underway next month on January 7, is still on.

CA officials were put on alert after the number of cases in the city recahed 28.

“There’s been lots of discussion and meetings of our medical experts, but this is the reason why throughout the summer we’ve had our players in bubbles in the hub,” CA’s interim Chief Executive Nick Hockley told SEN Radio.

“We’re monitoring the situation; we’re not panicking at all, staying calm... ... it’s really watch, wait and see and I think the governments around the country have handled the pandemic so well, so we’ll watch, learn and stay in touch.”
