The Abu Dhabi T10 League witnessed a live draw which saw eight teams being separated into two groups of four on Wednesday. Group A is already dubbed as the pool of death and there is a chance that a new champion might be crowned in 2021. Pool A features the 2019 champions Maratha Arabians along with 2018 winners Northern Warriors. Bangla Tigers and Delhi Bulls, coached by former Zimbabwe batsman and England cricket coach Andy Flower, are also in the same group. In Group B, the 2019 runners-up Deccan Gladiators will be along with Qalandars, Team Abu Dhabi and Pune Devils.
When will the tournament begin and how many games will be played?
The Abu Dhabi T10 League tournament will begin from January 28, 2021 and it will end on February 6, 2021. 12 matches will be played in the league stages, followed by 12 more matches in the Super League.
How does the format work?
The number of games that will be played in the Abu Dhabi T10 League will be a total of 28. The top two teams will be Qualifiers while the bottom two will be Eliminator teams.
Where will all the matches be played?
All the games will be played at the Sheikh Zayed stadium in Abu Dhabi. The 90-minute T10 match involving 10 overs is being touted as the right platform for cricket to make an entry into the Olympic games mostly during the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
