Australia have chosen to bat in the second ODI against India in Sydney while Virat Kohli’s Indian cricket team were unchanged for the game.
Australia have won the toss and chosen to bat in the 2nd ODI against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Sunday. Aaron Finch’s team are currently leading the three-match ODI series 1-0 after their brilliant 66-run win against Virat Kohli’s team in a high-scoring encounter at the same venue on Friday. A win on Sunday will give Aaron Finch’s side an ODI series win over India for the first time in over a year while India have shown the tendency to bounce back in style after suffering a big loss in the opening game in previous two bilateral series earlier.
Australia made one change to their side that won the game on Friday with Marcus Stoinis suffering a side strain and he was replaced by Moises Henriques. The Australian all-rounder will play an ODI for the first time in three years for Australia, having last played in 2017 against England. Henriques has had a superb Sheffield Shield tournament heading into the clash against India, scoring two centuries in three games for New South Wales.
On the other hand, Virat Kohli’s Indian cricket team made no changes to their side which lost the opening game. Before the match, Kuldeep Yadav was having some practice and it was speculated that he would replace Yuzvendra Chahal, who conceded the most runs by an Indian spinner in ODIs. Virat Kohli, though, offered no excuses for the loss on Friday. “After the 30 over mark, the bodies started to stiffen up. The second half was very encouraging. We can take a lot of positives from that,” Kohli said.
