Latest Updates

  • That's a fair result, to be honest.

Neither Kohli not Shai deserved to be at the losing end tonight. Hope remains not-out on 123 off 134.

What a game of cricket that was.

The five-match series remains 1-0 in India's favour after the first two ODIs.

  • THE MATCH ENDS IN A TIE

  • What drama in Vizag!

Shai Hope hits the last ball for a boundary to tie the game!

Umesh Yadav fails to defend 14 off the last over.

  • OUT!

Ashley Nurse goes for a scoop but finds Rayudu at third man.

    Windies need 7 from 2.

Can India pull off the win?

  • Shami delivers a fine over under tremendous pressure. Just six runs come from the penultimate over.

It's all on Umesh Yadav now. Windies need 14 off 6.

    WI - 308/6 after 49 overs.

  • A gem of an over from Chahal. Just two singles and one wicket from it. The leggie finishes with 1 for 63 from his 10 overs.

    Windies need 20 off 12.

    WI - 302/6 after 48 overs.

  • OUT!

What happened there?! Hope dabs it towards covers and Holder starts running blindly. Hope sends his skipper back but Rayudu quickly sends the ball back to Chahal at the non-striker's end and the bails are dislodged.

How badly will that cost the Windies?

They need 22 off 16 now.

  • Five runs come from Umesh's ninth over as Kuldeep dives but fails to stop a boundary at short-fine.

Windies now need 22 off 18.

    WI - 300/5 after 47 overs.

  • Nine runs from Chahal's ninth over.

Windies now need just 27 off 24.

It looks like the series will be squared-up tonight.

Or is there another twist in the tale?

    WI - 295/5 after 46 overs.

  • Hope spoils what was promising to be a good over for India.

After four singles of the first four balls, Hope stands tall and drives the ball over mid-off for a four.

He's just two runs away from a richly-deserved century.

    Windies need 36 off 30.

    WI - 286/5 after 45 overs.

  • CENTURY FOR SHAI HOPE!

The right-hander gets to his hundred off 113 balls.

Take a bow! This has been a truly memorable knock.

He's not given up and kept the Windies in the game.

  • SIX!

Shail Hope goes for the release shot and connects.

Kuldeep tosses it up and the right-hander slog-sweeps it for a maximum.

    The Windies needed this desperately.

Eight runs came from Kuldeep's final over. He finishes with figures of 3 for 67 from 10 overs.

    WI - 277/5 after 44 overs.

  • An incredible over from Mohammed Shami!

The right-arm quick bowls five dot balls and concedes just a single in his eighth over. Top stuff.

Windies need 53 off 42 now.

    WI - 269/5 after 43 overs.

  • Chahal replaces Kuldeep, gives away six runs in his eighth over.

    India building steady pressure.

West Indies need 55 off 48.

    WI - 267/5 after 42 overs.

  • Kuldeep and Jadeja give two runs each in their overs. The pressure is building on West Indies. Skipper Jason Holder has come in and slowed things down greatly.  5 off 14. India surely sniff a chance here.

    WI - 261/5 after 41 overs.

  • After Kuldeep's wicket-taking over, Jadeja does well to build pressure from the other end and give away just a single from his ninth over.

India have to keep searching for wickets.

    WI - 257/5 after 39 overs.

  • OUT!

Kuldeep strikes for India. As the coach would say - that's just what the doctor ordered.

Powell gets fooled by the googly, Rohit does well to hold on to the edge at second slip. It was a sharp catch.

  • Good over from Jadeja, gives just two runs eighth over.

India need wickets, though. That's the only way they're winning this match.

West Indies need 71 runs from 78 balls.

    WI - 251/4 after 37 overs.

  • SIX!

Powell stands and delivers. Chahal tosses it well up and gets clobbered straight back.

Pant runs and takes the catch, but he's well over the rope and crashes into the advertising hoarding. He bangs his shoulder hard and walks off the field in pain.

Smart batting from the Windies players. They are content in taking singles after getting a six off the first ball of the over.

    WI - 249/4 after 36 overs.

  • Rovman Powell gets his first boundary. Umesh bowls it straight, the right-hander swings wildly and the ball finds its way to the square-leg fence.

    SIX!

Shai Hope is unstoppable at the moment. He stands tall and pulls it in front of square for a maximum. Boss shot!

Expensive over that, 13 runs came from it.

    WI - 239/4 after 39 overs.

  • Chahal bowls a tight over, gives away just two singles.

Kohli is egging the crowd to cheer louder each time the bowler walks back to his mark. What intensity from the skipper.

    WI - 226/4 after 34 overs.

  • Shami gives away just three runs from his seventh over.

Kohli is asking the fans to clap louder for the Men In Blue.

It's West Indies' game to lose now.

    WI - 224/4 after 33 overs.

  • OUT!

Kohli always believes in one guy and that's Chahal. Guess what? He never disappoints his skipper. He removes the set batsman Hetymer! You have to feel for the youngster though, his spectacular innings ends on 94 off 64 balls. A huge sigh of relief for Kohli, who takes an easy catch.

India are 221/4 in 31.5 overs

  • Shami back into the attack

Shami to Hetymer, shorter delivery, pulls away to deep square leg for FOUR. WIDE. Taps on the off-side and sprints away for TWO. ONE. ONE. Hetymer smashes over the mid-off, FOUR, Enters 90s. DOT to end the over.

India are 218/3 after 31 overs

  • Fifty up for Shai Hope. A top, top knock from the highly-rated right-hander. While Hetmyer has taken risks and raced ahead, Hope has stood firm and also kept up the run-rate. Must be said that the 24-year-old also has a pleasing technique to watch.

    Four!

Bang! Hetmyer continues to go about doing his business. The left-hander takes his front foot forward and lofts Umesh straight back. That was a boss shot.

    WI - 195/3 after 29 overs.

  • Kuldeep returns to bowl his sixth over. Does well to give away just four runs.

    WI - 187/3 after 28 overs.

  • Shai Hope survives. Or did he? Umpire Ian Gould raises his finger to an LBW appeal, but DRS shows there was a massive edge. Even the appeal from Umesh was half-hearted.

Good over from Umesh, just the three singles from it.

    WI - 183/3 after 27 overs.

  • Four!

Hetmyer steps out and lofts Chahal over mid-wicket for a boundary.

    SIX!

The leggie drops the next ball short and is sent into the stands behind square-leg.

    ANOTHER SIX!

    Wow!

Hetmyer has cut loose big-time. He steps out a bit and lofts the ball straight back for a maximum. What a clean strike. The left-hander is playing a blinder here. What a talent he is, proving his hundred in the previous match wasn't a flash in the pan.

India are in desperate need of a wicket now. This partnership has to be broken soon.

18 runs from that over, West Indies seem to be cruising all of a sudden.

    WI - 180/3 after 26 overs.

  • Pace introduced after a while by Kohli. Umesh returns to have a bowl.

Wow! A stunning shot from Shai Hope. The right-hander stands steady, takes a stride out and drives one on the rise past covers and mid-off. The ball races away to the fence in a flash.

Kohli played some exceptional stokes today, but this drive from Hope is right up there with the best shots of the match.

    WI - 162/3 after 25 overs.

  • SIX!

Another maximum from Hetmyer's bat. This time he plays a more conventional sweep but the result is the same. Chahal is the bowler at the receiving end.

And with that, Hetmyer's half-century comes up. The left-hander can be proud of his effort. He's keeping the chase well and truly alive.

    WI - 156/3 after 24 overs.

  • What. A. Shot.

    Wow!

Hetmyer hits a six exactly the way he hit against Jadeja in his last over. Slog-sweep over mid-wicket. But only this time, the ball went into the top tier. Jeez, this kid is talented.

Did Kohli make a mistake by giving Jaddu an extra over?

    WI - 149/3 after 23 overs.

  • SIX!

    Stunning shot from Shimron Hetmyer!

The left-hander plays the perfect slog-sweep against the left-arm spinner Jadeja.

The ball was right in the slot and was sent a long way.

Windies are still very much in the game. Make no mistake about it. Their run-rate is right where it should be.

    WI - 134/2 after 21 overs.

  • Finally, Yuzvendra Chahal comes into the attack.

The leg-spinner gives away just a single in his first over.

Back-to-back overs from the Indian spinners where just one run is given. Good stuff.

Chahal's introduction so late in the innings means he'll surely have to bowl at the death. If the match goes till there, of course.

    WI - 125/3 after 20 overs.

  • A superb over from Jadeja. He didn't give an inch to the Windies batsmen there, keeping things wicket-to-wicket. Just the single came from that over.

    WI - 124/1 after 19 overs.

  • Kuldeep is getting some sharp, sharp turn. He beats Hetmyer's bat with a rippper!

    SIX!

The next ball is a rank full-toss and is duly sent over the mid-wicket fence. Poor stuff from Kuldeep.

Meanwhile, Hetmyer is looking good at the crease. The youngster is full of confidence on the back of his century in the last game.

    WI - 123/3 after 18 overs.

  • SIX!

Shimron Hetmyer goes big! The in-form left-hander slogs a low full-toss from Kuldeep for a maximum.

He'd scored a fighting ton in the last game, the Windies need a repeat performance from him tonight.

    WI - 110/3 after 16 overs.

  • Shot! Hope stays low and cuts the ball late for four. Jadeja had fired it in and the talented right-hander made the most of the pace.

    WI - 98/3 after 15 overs.

  • Another tidy over from Kuldeep, just the three runs come from his third over.

The West Indian batsmen are looking quite clueless against the chinaman bowler.

    WI - 90/3 after 14 overs.

  • SIX!

Shai Hope gets West Indies' first maximum of the innings.

The right-hander takes a stride out and lofts Jadeja straight back. Fine shot.

The Windies are continuing to maintain a healthy run-rate despite the loss of wickets.

    WI - 87/3 after 13 overs.

  • Samuels has come out with a clear mindset tonight, he's going to go for his shots.

The veteran right-hander leans in and drives Kuldeep past point for his third boundary.

    OUT!

What a comeback from Kuldeep! What a ball!

The chinaman bowler delivers an absolute peach of a googly. Samuels is beaten all ends up and the stumps are rattled.

The Windies are in trouble now.

    WI - 78/3 after 12 overs.

  • Kuldeep to Hemraj, pushes back to the bowler. As he is tempted to drive, gets an edge that goes to the fence, FOUR. OUT! Kuldeep draws first blood, removes Hemraj. Samuels follows that with two back-to-back boundaries. DOT to end the over.

    India 72 for 2 after 10 overs

  • Ravindra Jadeja comes on to have a bowl.

Concedes just two runs in his first over.

    WI - 74/2 after 11 overs.

  • Back-to-back boundaries for Hemraj!

First, an outside edge that races past short-fine. A diving Shami gets his hand to it but can't stop the boundary. Umesh doesn't look happy with the effort.

Next, a confident lofted stroke for a four from the left-hander. Not an easy shot to pull-off against quality pace.

    Shot!

Hope ends the over with the shot of the innings so far.

The right-hander leans in and punches the ball through covers for four.

That shot had class written all over it.

Another good over for the Windies, 13 runs came from it.

    WI - 55/1 after 8 overs.

  • Shai Hope gets his first boundary with a fine cover drive.

A wicket and six runs came from that Shami over.

    WI - 42/1 after 7 overs.

  • Chandrapaul Hemraj gets his first boundary.

Umesh strays in line and gets flicked square of the wicket for four.

    Another boundary!

This time Umesh bowls a horrid wide full-toff. Hemraj simply gets bat on ball and it sails over the in-field on the off side.

    WI - 36/0 after 6 overs.

  • OUT!

One pull too many from Kieran Powell.

The left-hander perishes for 18 after stepping out and trying to pull Shami out of the park. Pant takes a comfortable catch at deep mid-wicket.

  • Two more pulls from Powell, two more boundaries for him.

The left-hander is simply standing still, with no real foot-movement or transfer in weight, and swinging his bat across. Nice execution.

Umesh does manage to induce an outside edge, but the ball goes inches past a diving Dhoni.

Ten runs came from that over.

    WI - 22/0 after 4 overs.

  • Shami gives away just a single off the first five balls, but Powell plays a fine short-arm pull to pick a boundary and end the over.

    WI - 12/0 after 3 overs.

  • Umesh Yadav takes the new ball from the other end for India.

The right-arm pacer bowls a tidy over, giving just a single.

West Indies need to get going quickly here.

    WI - 7/0 after 2 overs.

  • Powell gets West Indies' first boundary.

Shami gets too straight from over the wicket against the left-hander and the ball is clipped past mid-wicket for four.

No movement for the right-arm quick in that first over.

    WI - 6/0 after 1 over.
