Andre Russell played a super innings as Kolkata posted a score of 202 runs for 6 wickets. Russell hit 88 runs off 36 balls after Chennai were in firm command of the game with five early wickets. 

Kolkata skipper Karthik and Russell bailed the their team out of trouble. The duo added 76 runs in just 46 deliveries to take the total over the 160-run mark. Riding on Russell’s brilliance, Kolkata KKR eventually finished 202/6 with in their stipulated 20 overs.

Earlier, Dhoni had won the toss and had opted to bowl first.

Twitter erupted after Russell's super innings. Even Mumbai skipper Rohit Sharma was in awe of the super performance by the Windies player.
