Where are 1992 stock market scam accused Harshad Mehta's wife Jyoti, son Atur Mehta and brother Ashwin Mehta these days?

Sony Liv's superhit series named 'Scam 1992' directed by Hansal Mehta portrayed the very first multi-crore scam in India involving stockbroker Harshad Mehta. The scam grabbed headlines for several days when it first came to light in 1992. Harshad Mehta was arrested and he died in the year 2001 in police custody. Though Harshad Mehta died in 2001, his family fought a number of legal battles even after his demise.

After watching the series many people are left wondering about the whereabouts of Harshad Mehta’s wife, son, brother and other family members.

Harshad's family fought the legal battle for almost 27 years and in February 2019 the income tax tribunal finally removed almost the whole tax demand of Rs 2.014 crores on Harshad Mehta, his wife Jyoti and brother Ashwin.

Jyoti Mehta also suceeded in winning a legal battle against a stockbroker named Kishore Janani and Federal Bank. They owed Rs 6 crores to Harshad Mehta and after a long fought battle the court ruled that Jyoti must receive the whole amount along with 18% interest. 

According to reports, Ashwin Mehta completed his degree in law and he practises in Mumbai High Court and also Supreme Court. He handled several court cases of Harshad Mehta and paid approximately Rs 1,700 crores to banks to clear Harshad's name in the scam.

Not much is known about Harshad Mehta’s Son Atur Mehta as he prefers to stay away from the limelight. According to a report by Business Standard, Atur Mehta is a businessman but he doesn’t give interviews.
