Tata-Singapore Airlines venture Vistara today announced a partnership between the KrisFlyer and Club Vistara frequent flyer programmes.

"The partnership enables KrisFlyer members to earn KrisFlyer miles when travelling on Vistara flights, and redeem Vistara flight tickets with their miles. Similarly, Club Vistara members can earn and redeem points when travelling on Singapore Airlines and SilkAir flights," a statement from the companies said.

The programmes will commence from March and redemption from May, the statement said.

KrisFlyer is Singapore Airlines' frequent flyer programme.

The tie-up of Vistara, launched on January 9, is the first such programme with another airline and follows the recent launch of an interline partnership with Singapore Airlines.

Commenting on the tie-up, Vistara chief executive Phee Teik Yeoh said the alliance will help his airline broaden its reach and strengthen the value proposition for Club Vistara members.

Singapore Airlines senior vice-president for marketing Lee Wen Fen said the airlines is delighted to strengthen its cooperation with Vistara.

The statement claims Club Vistara to be the first frequent flyer programme in the country offering value-based earning for its members, where points are earned based on actual spend on the ticket fare rather than the miles travelled. The airline has also done away with a physical membership card, which is also claimed to be a first in the domestic market.

KrisFlyer members can earn loyalty miles when they travel on Singapore Airlines and its subsidiary SilkAir, partner airlines on the Star Alliance, as well as Virgin Australia, Virgin Atlantic and Virgin America, apart from collaborating with over 170 non-airline partners worldwide.

The members can redeem their miles on over 30 world-class airlines connecting over 1,000 cities in 170 countries.
