In what can only be called an act of benevolence, a UAE-based entrepreneur Sohan Roy is going to pay a salary to wives of his employees for the work ethic they showed during the COVID-19 pandemic.

In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic which witnessed a gigantic surge of salary cuts and job losses, this Sharjah-based businessman seems to be doing over and above what is expected from an entrepreneur. Roy is of Indian-origin who promotes the Aries Group of Companies in the United Arab Emirates.

His company is now preparing a database of the spouses of male employees in the company. According to a report on UAE-based news website Khaleej Times, the salary will be given based on the number of years an employee worked with the company, and will be rolled out soon.

Roy said that he decided to pay salaries to the wives of the employees for the support the employees provided during COVID-19 times.

Moreover, the company did not sack any of its employees during the pandemic. 

It is to be noted that Roy had once featured in the Forbes Middle East list of one of the top influential leaders in the Middle East 2017.
