The company laid off 42 employees, which is 6 percent of its total workforce. Before layoff, the company's strength was 700. KhataBook said in a statement that the employees will get 3 months pay, ESOPs, health insurance extension and other job-related support.

According to Business Today, Khatabook's product, engineering and marketing teams have faced the brunt of the layoffs. Both tech and non-tech employees were asked to leave.
