Ravish Naresh is the co-founder and CEO of Bengaluru-based KhataBook. He started KhataBook in 2016. He is also a co-founder of real estate portal, Housing.com.
The company laid off 42 employees, which is 6 percent of its total workforce. Before layoff, the company's strength was 700. KhataBook said in a statement that the employees will get 3 months pay, ESOPs, health insurance extension and other job-related support.
The company is valued Rs 4500 crore. It had raised 100 million dollars in 2021.
According to Business Today, Khatabook's product, engineering and marketing teams have faced the brunt of the layoffs. Both tech and non-tech employees were asked to leave.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni has invested in the company in 2020.
