The technology transfer will provide Thermax with high efficiency combustion systems for using biomass, high in moisture content, for energy generation.
Indian engineering firm Thermax said on Monday it signed a technology transfer agreement with German firm Lambion Energy Solutions in the area of energy generation from waste.
"The technology transfer will provide Thermax with high efficiency combustion systems for using biomass, high in moisture content, for energy generation," it said in a statement.
This technology will be integrated with boilers and heaters made by Thermax with a capacity range of 4-30 MW, it added.
Thermax will have an exclusive license to market heating systems, equipped with the new technology in India and south Asian countries, South East Asia, Middle East and Africa, the statement added.
This is the third tie-up by Thermax in the last 9 months.
In August 2009, it had formed a joint venture (JV) with the US listed SPX Corp for making pollution control systems, while one more JV was formed in March with another US firm, Babcock & Wilcox, for making high-end boilers.
Shares in Thermax ended 1.11% lower at Rs670.90 in the Mumbai market that ended down 0.66%.
