According to the department, the project will be completed at an estimated cost of around Rs 44.23 crore in nine months, from the time the construction begins.

"Tender process started for construction of Skywalk and Footover bridge at Mathura Road, Tilak Bridge, ITO," PWD Minister Satyendar Jain tweeted.

An official said the flyover bridge will come up at Pragati Maidan Metro station and connect to nearby areas, including Tilak Lane railway station and ITO.

Also, the skywalk will connect Tilak Marg, Sikandra Road, Mathura Road and Bahadurshah Zafar Marg with ITO Metro station and the Delhi High Court.

The official, speaking on condition of anonymity as he was not authorised to talk to the media, said the project will provide hassle-free movement to pedestrians at the busy ITO intersection.

"Construction of skywalk and FOB will be carried out at the junction of Sikandra Road, Mathura Road, Tilak Marg and Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg at W point and near Hans Bhawan (ITO)," an e-tender notice stated.

It added that once the tender process is completed, both skywalk and FOB will be constructed within nine months.
