"The general house of Shimla Municipal Corporation at its meeting held here yesterday unanimously decided to raise the demand for separate allocation of Rs 500 crore for the city and this amount be kept as part of plan budget as state government's share for Smart City," Deputy Mayor of SMC, Tikender Panwar said in a letter to the chief minister.

He said Shimla was in the mid of preparation of the smart city plan, which has to be placed before the Union government by March 31 and largescale engagement of the citizens was being sought for the preparation of the plan, he said.
