MUMBAI: The Bombay Stock Exchange benchmark, Sensex, recovered by over 36 points in early trading on the back of fresh buying by funds and retailers.
 
The 30-shares sensitive index, which had lost 9.61 points on Tuesday, recovered by 36.65 points at 11,941.25 in the first five minutes of trading.
 
Similarly, the Nifty index on the wide-based National Stock Exchange was up by 6.45 points at 3,480.20.
 
The major gainers were Infosys Technologies, Tata Motors, Maruti Udyog, Hindalco, Tata Steel, Larsen and Toubro, Dr Reddy, Bajaj Auto, Reliance Industries, Reliance Energy, Reliance Petroleum and ACC.
