The benchmark equity indices tumbled snapping two days gain on Monday on rupee woes, rising crude oil prices and trade war concerns.

Sensex tanked 505.13 points, or 1.33%, closing at 37585.51 while Nifty ended at 11377.75 falling 137.45 points, or 1.19%.

Sun Pharma, HDFC, Tata Motors, Reliance Industries and Asian Paints were the biggest laggard on BSE tanking as much as 2.85%.

Sector-wise, BSE Finance lost the most slipping 1.44%. Other sectoral losers were BSE Energy (1.30%), Consumer Durables (1.25%), FMCG (1.20%) and Bankex and Healthcare (1.08%). However, BSE Realty (1.36%), Power (0.14%) and Utilities (0.04%) were the only sectoral gainers. 

BSE Midcap (-0.76%) and Smallcap (-0.05%) too had a negative day.
