MUMBAI: The benchmark Sensex maintained the rally for the third straight day on Friday on the Bombay Stock Exchange and ended higher by more than 127 points on sustained buying by funds.
 
The Sensex, which had gained over 490 points in the last two trading sessions, rose by 127.36 points to 13,614.52 on the back of support from metal and banking stocks.
 
In similar fashion, the National Stock Exchange index, Nifty, gained 45.60 points to 3,888.65 points. It touched a high of 3,908.45 points during the day.
