MUMBAI: A fag-end profit selling wiped off initial gains and the benchmark Sensex closed over 15 points up on the Bombay Stock Exchange on Friday, after touching a new intra- day peak at 15,683.03 points.

The Sensex, which gained nearly 11 points in previous day's trading, added another 15.42 points at 15,565.55.

Similarly, the National Stock Exchange index Nifty ended 3.95 points or 0.10 per cent up at 4,566.05. During the day, the index set another milestone of 4,600 points level.

The rally was led by stocks of capital goods and metal segment. Capital Goods index surged by 193.90 at 13,070.08 and metal index by 178.12 points at 12,211.10. Realty stocks also rose, lifting the segment index by 128.48 points at 8,183.02.

However, Consumer Durable Index lost 61.61 points at 4,209.81, Bank index by 59.21 points at 8,394.76, Oil and Gas index by 56.81 points at 8,111.54 and Information Technology index by 35.25 points at 4,921.06.
