Reliance Jio GigaFibre broadband: All you need to know about preview offer

Reliance Jio GigaFiber broadband has already started registrations. The process began on August 15. Reliance Industries' chairman Mukesh Ambani at its 41st annual general meeting had announced the launch of the fixed-line broadband service Jio GigaFiber. GigaFiber was previouly known as Jio Fiber. During his address, Chairman Mukesh Ambani informed that Jio's broadband services would be made available in 1,100 cities in India. Jio GigaFiber will come with GigaFiber router along with the Jio GigaTV set-top box. Mukesh Ambani also informed that the set-top box will allow users to make video calls to other GigaTV devices or mobile connections on any network in the country. 

Jio GigaFiber is expected to disrupt the broadband market by offering the service at 50% price of those offered by competitors. Currently, above 100 GB of broadband data pack at 100 Mbps speed is offered by cable operators for Rs 700-1000 per month. They also charge an addition Rs 250-300 for TV services. 

At present, JioGigaFiber preview offer is live for consumers. The preview offer includes "ultra high-speed internet up to 100Mbps for 90 days along with a monthly data quota of 100 GB and a complimentary access to a host of Jio's premium apps." If a user consumes 100 GB of data within a month, he/she can continue to enjoy the high-speed internet services by getting a complimentary data top-up of 40 GB via MyJio App or through Jio.com. There are no installation charges levied on the preview offer. However,  a refundable security deposit of Rs.4,500 taken for the ONT device (GigaHub Home Gateway) is necessary to be paid through Debit card, Credit Card, Jio Money or PayTM.
Official Reliance Jio website says, "JioGigaFiber beats the rest because of its ultra fast upload and download speeds & effective functioning in merely 'milli seconds'.

Here's how you can register for it

As we mentioned above, the registration will start on August 15. Customers will be able to register for Jio GigaFiber broadband service through the MyJio app. They can also login to Jio.com, to register it online. It should also be noted that there will be no registration amount for a Jio GigaFiber connection.

Listing out the benefits of Jio GigaFiber, Mukesh Ambani said that for the merchants and small businesses, fixed-line broadband will enable fixed-line connectivity with the agility and customer obsession of a small owner-driven business you empower them to compete on level terms with larger businesses.

Meanwhile, to beat competition for Reliance Jio, BSNL has unveiled yet another broadband plan for a price of Rs 995. With this new plan, users will be able to access an FUP limit of 200GB at a speed of 20mbps. At the moment, this plan is available in the Kerala circle, in the Ernakulam SSA region.

Those interested, can avail this plan for Rs 10,945 for a period of one year, Rs 20,898 for a period of two years, and Rs 29,850 for a period of three years respectively.
