Vaibhav Baddalwar, an unemployed 34-year old youth, is being brought to Mumbai from Nagpur and has been booked under IPC Section 506(2) of threatening and information technology Act.

RBI general manager Vaibhav Chatturvedi informed Mumbai police that the governor had received a mail on his personal email id on February 23. Containing grammatical errors, the mail read, "Hi Mr Urjit, RBI Governor, my dear son, please quit the job, dont seat in the RBI, this is my right, otherwise, we will going to kill you, we will finish your family overnight, your lovely daughter, son will get killed in coming blast, without any bones remain in the body."

After an FIR was registered on February 28, the Mumbai Cyber Police tracked Baddalwar's physical address to Nandavan in Nagpur and arrested him up from there on March 3.

During early inquiries, he admitted to have sent the mail. Police suspect he may be mentally disturbed.

Patel, who has named the governor in August last year, garnered alot of criticism on the apex bank's handling of the note ban.
