PE/VC investments stay robust in October

Fund infusion through private equity and venture capital route was upbeat last month despite the evolving bad-loan situation and liquidity issues in NBFCs, said an EY report

$3.1 bn – private equity and venture capital investments in October

$100 mn – of six large deals each

$25.2 bn – total investments in 2018 so far

$806 mn – worth of buyout deals recorded across four deals

$364 mn – real estate attracted investments in two deals

$334 mn – financial services clocked investments in eight deals

While PE/VC deal activity in July-September was weak, the strong start to the fourth quarter is encouraging. Despite the underperformance in open market exits, PE/VC exit activity continues to remain robust with support from strategic and secondary deals,"
