Flooded with freshly received funding from Japan's SoftBank, e-wallet firm, Paytm is now looking for acquiring travel portal Via.com. The e-commerce firm is reportedly in talks to buy the online travel company.

According to the report in the Economic Times, Paytm is looking to invest close to $80 million to acquire the Bengaluru- based travel portal. However, both the firms have not reacted to the media reports yet. 

Earlier this year, Paytm had partnered with Booking.com to expand accommodation choices for customers on its online travel marketplace.Under this partnership, all domestic and international accommodations available on Booking.com will now be available on Paytm with unique promotions and offers.

The online hotel booking service on Paytm has seen a major uptake in bookings since last year owing to increasing mobile penetration and adoption, a Paytm release stated. 

Earlier this year, Via.com has surpassed one million downloads since its launched. With this, VIA’s mobile app user-base had grown to over 1.5 million globally.
