Founder of Kothari Group that makes the famous mouth-freshner Pan Parag, Mansukhlal Mahadevbhai Kothari, has passed away on Friday morning. He was 90.

During his last breath, his family including his wife Sharda Kothari, two sons Vikram Kothari and Deepak Kothari and daughter Reeta Kothari, and his grandsons and great grandsons, were by his side.

Kothari passed away on Friday after a prolonged illness.

The family members performed his last rites at Bairoghat on Saturday. 

Born in a merchant family in July 1925, in Nareli district of Surendra Nagar in Gujarat, Kothari was just 16 when he moved to Kanpur to work.

The mouth freshener Pan Parag has been a hit across the country for decades. In 1987, Kothari was felicitated with the President's award. He stepped down as the chairman of Kothari Industries in 2010 due to his illness.
