Nissan Motor launched the redi-GO compact car under the Datsun brand, competing against Maruti Suzuki Alto and Hyundai's Eon. Nissan had launched Datsun GO in 2014, marking the global comeback of the brand after nearly three decades. "This unprecedented growth of Datsun brand is due to the phenomenal response Datsun redi-GO is getting from people across the country," Nissan Motor Managing Director Arun Malhotra said in a company release.

"In just 23 days since its launch, close to 3,000 units of redi-GO have been sold. These are exciting times for Datsun and we look forward to delivering more cars to our customers," he said.

Datsun redi-GO is available across 274 sales and service outlets. The vehicle is priced at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the release added.
