Nissan inaugurated a parts distribution centre in Gurgaon today that will strive to reduce delivery time of spare parts in North India, the carmaker has said.

It will also help dealerships across the region to plan and optimize space required for parts storage and cut down on operating expenses. The parts distribution centre is expected to cut delivery time by up to nine days, the company has said.

Announcing the opening of the new facility, Arun Malhotra, managing director, Nissan Motor India Private Limited (NMIPL) said, “Our new regional parts distribution centre significantly strengthens our after sales operations in North India.”

The 97,500 sq. ft. facility, also houses a material storage area.

Nissan Motor India claims that it has achieved consistent improvement in parts availability with a fill rate of 97%, amongst the best in the Indian automotive industry. Fill rate measures the number of customer orders that can be met from existing inventories.
