CHENNAI: Sify Ltd has posted a net loss of USD 1.27 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 compared to a net profit of USD 1.54 million during the same period last year.

A company press release on Monday said that net profit for the quarter was impacted as Provision for Doubtful Debts (PDD) on overdue amounts carried on the books for a period of time amounted to USD 1.28 million during the quarter, exchange loss of USD 0.4 million incurred on account of rupee appreciation compared to exchange gain of USD 1.1 million in the same quarter last year.

However, the company has posted revenues of USD 34.60 million, 6.6 per cent higher than in the same period last year.
