Swiggy Food Consumption Survey carried out to study the food consumption pattern of India found that chicken biryani topped the list of the most popular non-vegetarian main course dish ordered by Mumbaikars.

However, despite options galore, street food and fast food along with North Indian cuisine was the top choice for most Mumbaikars.

"Mumbaikars love their street food. Vada pav, pav bhaji and chaats remain the most popular snack foods, even on online orders," Swiggy said in a statement.

In the city, Pav Bhaji, Dal Khichdi, Butter Naan and Chicken Biryani emerged as the top choices for ordering food online.

Swiggy said, "Mumbai recorded the highest level of brand loyalty. According to Swiggy data, an average user ordered from 305 restaurants around five times in a month. Only in Mumbai, top customers order as many as 30 times in a month. Even the retention rate was higher than the average of 40% recorded nationally."
