Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani announced on Monday (August 28) that Reliance Consumer Products Ltd (RCPL)is planning to take its beverage brand Campa Cola to global markets, starting with Asia and Africa. It is to be noted that RCPL is the packaged consumer goods arm of Reliance Industries and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Reliance Retail Ventures (RRVL), which is headed by Isha Ambani. Addressing shareholders at Reliance Industries’ 46th AGM, Isha Ambani said, “We are scaling it up further in India, and have started work to take it global, starting with Asia and Africa," she said. According to Isha Ambani, Reliance is yet to roll out Campa Cola across India. It may be recalled that Campa Cola was acquired by Mukesh Ambani in 2022 from Pure Drinks Ltd, which is a New Delhi-based company.

After acquiring Campa Cola for Rs 22 crore, Reliance Retail decided to re-launch Campa Cola and the product is currently available in some cities. According to experts, Campa Cola would soon start competing with established brands such as Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.

“We launched our FMCG (fast-moving consumer goods) business with the vision to provide world-class products at affordable prices... to make heritage brands contemporary for Indian consumers, keeping the age-old brand promise intact. We have acquired and partnered with several such brands like Campa Cola, Sosyo and Lotus," Isha Ambani said.

Few months ago, RCPL has inked a deal with Ceylon Beverage International to pack and manufacture the cans of Campa Cola. Notably, Ceylon Beverage International is promoted by former Sri Lankan cricketer Muthiah Muralitharan.

Reliance Retail is India’s leading retailer and the Isha Ambani-led firm posted a revenue of Rs 2.60 lakh crore in FY23. Reliance Retail sells a variety of products, including taples, food, fashion, and FMCG to home, personal care, and general merchandise.
