Juris helps individuals and organizations reshape their relationship with change, uncertainty, and a world in flux.
During this challenging pandemic era, many have had to make quick decisions in facing the unexpected—sudden turns we’ve needed to embrace in order to stay afloat emotionally, financially, and professionally. And now more than ever, our ability to pivot and embrace constant change is the key to thriving in work and life.
To learn more about how to excel amid constant change, I was excited to chat with Juris Bruvers, an entrepreneur whose mindset has helped him strive during these challenging times. As an influencer, Juris helps individuals and organizations reshape their relationship with change, uncertainty, and a world in flux.
Bruvers shared that to succeed and get to where is now, he built a framework around him. Put himself in a company with smarter and more established people in the business. This helped fortify his knowledge of brand building, marketing, and reputation growth.
During the pandemic when most were struggling Juris seized this opportunity to build and teach online marketing methods to businesses and up-and-coming entrepreneurs. ''To stand out from others, you must sometimes go against the grain, use the unconventional route.'' This strategy and mindset led to massive growth for Juris' partners.
Work is about doing what you love and being passionate about it. Bruvers says: ''If you continue to think that you're going to succeed in a job that you hate. Stop right there. This is not about the money. You must follow your dreams and stop not when you are tired but when you are done.''
To sum it up, pulling people up with you is the way to success. Juris incorporates this philosophy in beneficial relationships that have helped him make leaps and bounds ahead of the competition in 2020 and he has continued this in 2021.
Juris Bruvers: Don't bend to other people's opinions
From the time we hit adolescence (and maybe even earlier), we live our lives caring what other people think of us. We're all guilty of this to a certain degree -- it’s human nature to want to be liked and approved of by the tribe around us. However, there’s a problem when fear of criticism or judgment drowns out your inner voice. Juris shared: ''this fear is one of the biggest reasons why people don’t go after what they want.''
The best entrepreneurs are able to put aside the constant need for approval, says Bruvers. Do they respect the opinions of others? Certainly. But, the voice in their heads is always louder than every other voice they hear. That’s what enables them to step outside the norm, forge their own path, and create something brilliant.
Juris has some tips to help stay on your path:
Put extra emphasis on the people who need you, and don’t just focus on your own life. According to Juris, it is much easier to achieve great things if the outcome will affect many people. Make sure to be specific about how their lives will change and how you come into the picture.
The bottom line is that whenever you step too far outside of the box, there’s a chance that you’ll be judged by others. Especially in the early stages of your business or vision, you can expect that family and friends may not understand what you’re trying to do. Bruvers feels that people will tell you that you’re crazy or wrong or stupid for pursuing your idea. During these times, the best entrepreneurs will dig deep and stick to their core vision and values. When you stop worrying about what others think, then you’re finally able to live life on your own terms.
