Metro services in the city on Diwali will be available for passengers from 6 am to 7 pm, Metro officials said Tuesday.

The Metro train services will commence at the usual time in the morning, but will ply only till 7 pm instead of 10 pm, they said.

The last Metro trains from the Transport Nagar Metro Station and the Charbagh Metro Station will depart at 7 pm 7.16 pm respectively, the officials added. 

Meanwhile, Metro services will be available till 10 pm on Diwali from terminal stations, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said Monday.

"On account of the Diwali festival the last metro train service on November 7 will be at 10 pm instead of 11 pm from terminal stations of all metro lines including the Airport Express Line," the DMRC said in a statement.It stated that metro train services will run for rest of the day on Diwali from 6 am onwards on all lines and from 4:45 am on the Airport Express Line. 

Earlier The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation has adjudged Barakhamba Road, Hauz Khas and Okhla Bird Sanctuary Metro stations as the cleanest underground, interchange and elevated stations of the Delhi Metro network respectively. Various Metro stations were assessed for their cleanliness during the ‘Swachhata Hi Sewa’ campaign organised from September 15 to October 2 to commemorate the 4th anniversary of Swachh Bharat Mission.

Dwarka Sector 21 and ITO stations were also given consolation prizes for adherence to best cleaning standards. “As part of the campaign, a series of activities oriented towards raising the awareness about the importance of cleanliness were organised across the offices, stations, depots and residential colonies of the Delhi Metro network,” an official from DMRC said. The NCB Colony station site, Ballabhgarh and IICC station site, Dwarka were also awarded as the cleanest construction sites.
