The domestic carmaker's exports were up 10.8% in August this year.
Maruti Suzuki India sold 132,221 vehicles in August, up 12.2% compared the 117,864 units sold in the same period last yaer.
In the domestic market, Maruti Suzuki sold 119,931 units, up 12.3%, and exported 12280 units, up 10.8% from the same last year.
Maruti Suzuki's passenger cars' sales volume grew 4.4% to 90269 units, up from 86,454 units in August 2015.
The carmaker's utility vehicles' segment, which includes the Gypsy, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, S-Cross and Vitara Brezza, grew at a whopping 114.5% to 16,806 units, up from 7,836 units sold in August last year.

The two segments that saw a fall were, the mini cars segment -- Alto and Wagon R -- where sales fell 5.8% to 35490 from 37665 in the year ago period; and super compact segment -- Dzire Tour -- where the sales volume fell 5.9%.
Maruti Suzuki's shares were up slightly at Rs 5060, up Rs 7.35 or 0.15% from the previous day's close.
