Construction firm Madhucon Projects Ltd today said it received a Rs 217-crore road contract from the Maharashtra government.

The contract has been awarded by the public works department of the Maharashtra governmnet for the upgradation of a section NH-353, the company said in a BSE filing.

"Madhucon Projects Ltd has received Letter of Acceptance (LoA) from public works department, Maharashtra for upgradation of NH 353 (1) starting from Wadi connecting Hiongna T point Isasani-Mihan outer ring road-Gumgaon- Salaidhaba-Butibori-MIDC Takalghat-Khapri Moreshwar-Asola Sindi Railway-Panwar to two lane with paved shoulder configuration in section from Wadi junction to Asola junction...for Rs 216,83,50,200," it said.

The Hyderabad-based Madhucon Group has interests in construction, besides granites coal and power sugars.

Shares of the company today ended down 4.73 per cent at Rs 39.85 apiece on BSE.
