Jaggery: The wholesale gur (jaggery) market ended on a

quiet note in the national capital during the week under review following sluggish demand from stockists and retailers amid negligible arrivals, and prices remaining unaltered.

On the other hand, Muzaffarnagar gur market depicted a weak trend on poor demand amid fresh supplies, prices fell by up to Rs 100 per quintal.

Meanwhile, Muradnagar gur market disclosed a steady tone in listless trading.

Marketmen said muted demand due to off season coupled with negligible arrivals from manufacturing belts in view of adverse weather conditions kept the gur prices at unchanged in Delhi and Muradnagar.

Meanwhile, Muzaffarnagar market showed a weak trend on fresh supplies amid absence of demand.

In Delhi, gur Chakku, Pedi, Dhayya and Shakkar prices enquired flat at Rs 3,500-3,600, Rs 3,800-3,900,Rs 3,900-4,000 and Rs 4,100-4,200 per quintal, respectively.

Muradnagar gur market also remained steady and prices of gur Pedi and Dhayya quoted unchanged at Rs 3,400-3,450 and Rs 3,450-3,500 per quintal.

At Muzaffarnagar, gur Chakku plummeted by Rs 100 to end the week at Rs 3,100-3,200 per quintal.

Gur Raskat prices also dropped by Rs 25 to settle the week at Rs 2,600-2,650 per quintal.

Trading in gur Khurpa and Laddoo remained suspended due to scarcity of stocks. (MORE)
