The government has received declarations of Rs 65,250 crore under its Income Tax Declaration scheme that concluded on September 30. Here's a break-up of the crucial numbers.
A day after the four-month amnesty-like Income Declaration Scheme (IDS) window closed, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley chaired a meeting, to disclose the initial figures of the black money unearthed through the government's scheme.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government launched the one-time black money disclosure scheme on June 1, to rein in black money in the economy, which remained open till midnight of September 30.
Under the scheme, taxpayers with undisclosed income could come forward and declare their wealth, and come clean by paying 45% tax and penalty. The government assured that the taxpayers' names would be kept confidential.

Black money declared - Rs 65,250 crore
