Christine Lagarde, the chief of the International Monetary Fund will visit India next week, during which she is likely to meet the country's top leadership including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"She (Lagarde) will be in Delhi on March the 16th, and then be moving down to Mumbai on March the 17th. She'll have a couple of speeches and remarks and presentations at those events," Assistant Director and Mission Chief for India in the IMF's Asian and Pacific Department, Paul Cashin told reportes on Wednesday.

In addition to meeting the Prime Minister, Lagarde is also expected to meet Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley. No further details of her India trip were publicly available.
