Cooperative sugar mills in Haryana have produced over 32.91 lakh quintals of sugar this year so far, as compared to 28.94 lakh quintals during the corresponding period of last year.

Sugar mills crushed about 334.53 lakh quintals of sugarcane in the current season so far against 291.84 lakh quintals of sugarcane in the same period of last year, a spokesman of Haryana State Federation of Cooperative Sugar Mills said.

The cooperative sugar mill in Shahabad has produced a maximum of over 6.43 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 61.82 lakh quintals of sugarcane.

Rohtak cooperative sugar mill has produced over 4.01 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 43.11 lakh quintals of sugarcane, followed by cooperative sugar mill in Meham, which has produced over 3.43 lakh quintals of sugar by crushing 36.88 lakh quintals of sugarcane.

Average rate of sugar recovery by the cooperative sugar mills has been registered as 9.99 per cent so far, he said.
