Finance minister Pranab Mukherjee today said to ensure inclusive growth, the government is working on a legislation to ensure food for all. "The government is working to have a legislation on right to food," Mukherjee said at a function in Kolkata today. Growth in statistical terms do not have any meaning unless it is accompanied by jobs, education, food etc for all, the minister said, adding after the Right to Information Act, the government will enact an appropriate laws to back such entitlements of citizens.The first challenge before the government is to achieve a GDP growth of 9%, he said, adding the next challenge is to break the double-digit growth barrier for all round development. Lauding the efforts of public sector banks, Mukherjee said nationalised banks are able to run efficiently and there is no inherent dichotomy in the private and public sector banking system.
