Govt extends ITR filing deadline for FY 2019-20 to November 30

The Income Tax Department on Saturday informed that the dates for filing ITR for Financial Year 2019-20 has been extended till November 30.

In a relief to taxpayers, the Income Tax Department on Saturday informed that the dates for filing income-tax returns (ITR) for Financial Year 2019-20 has been extended till November 30.

"Understanding and keeping in mind the times that we are in, we have further extended deadlines. Now, filing of ITR for FY 2019-20 is extended to November 30," the department said in a tweet.

The central government had earlier extended the deadline for filing revised income-tax returns (ITR) for 2018-19 fiscal till July 31, 2020.

"The time for filing of original as well as revised income tax returns for the FY 2018-19 (AY 2019-20) has been extended to July 31, 2020," it had said.

The date for linking Aadhaar with PAN has also been extended to March 31, 2021. 

Additionally, the deadline for furnishing of tax deducted at source (TDS)/tax collected at source (TDS) statements for FY 2019-20 has also been extended till July 31, 2020. For issuance of TDS/TCS certificates for FY19-20, the date has been extended till August 15.
