Godrej & Boyce is targeting the over Rs 10,000 crore attainable premium furniture segment with its new brand 'Script'. The company is hoping to achieve revenues of Rs 320 crore from this business by fiscal 2021. Over the next five years, it is planning to launch 18 stores across five cities in the country starting with Bengaluru followed by New Delhi and Mumbai within this fiscal.

Jamshyd Godrej, managing director and chairman, Godrej & Boyce, said, that brand Script will strengthen its commitment to providing great customer experience. "It's a first brand from the house of Godrej & Boyce, which establishes Godrej in the attainable premium furniture category," he said adding that the brand is backed by a strong supply chain infrastructure through existing presence in the furniture segment.

A mass premium / attainable premium brand Script is positioned as a novel and urban furnishing lineup and a lifestyle extension from the house of Godrej.

Rajat Mathur, business head - Script, said, currently there is limited number of national and international branded furniture players in the market. "There is also a vacuum in the attainable premium segment in furniture retail. With Script, we see a huge opportunity to bridge this gap. Script is also backed by a very strong design and R&D team," he said.
