Ginger Hotels CEO Rahul Pandit quits

Tata Group's hospitality vertical Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) said that Rahul Pandit, managing director and chief executive of its subsidiary Roots Corporation, has resigned effective April 2, 2018, citing personal reasons.

Puneet Chhatwal, managing director and chief executive officer of IHCL, and chairman of Roots Corporation Ltd, said, "During his tenure, Ginger expanded its portfolio in line with the company's growth strategy whilst achieving its highest customer satisfaction ratings. There is a stable leadership team in place at Roots Corporation and we will continue to pursue our aggressive plans for the company."

IHCL, however, did not share any details about who is replacing or likely to assume the vacated post.

Pandit had joined the company in June 2015 after quitting as president and executive director of The Lemon Tree Hotel Company.

Roots Corporation owns and manages a mid-scale chain of branded economy hotels under the Ginger brand. According to the company website, Roots Corp currently has 42 hotels across 31 locations in India. Besides, reports suggest there are another 21 hotels under various stages of development.

Indian Hotels Company and its subsidiaries operate 144 hotels globally across four continents, 11 countries and 72 locations.
