Troubles for Nestle India and Maggi noodles seem to only increase as India's leading retailer Future Group  has decided to remove Maggi from its shelves.

Future Group runs stores like Big Bazaar, Nilgiris and Easyday after the merger with Bharti Enterprises' retail businesses earlier this year. 

The company said that the move has been taken in the interest of the consumer sentiment. 

Maggi has been in the thick of controversies since the Uttar Pradesh's food and drug administration department found traces of lead and MSG in Maggi samples. 

Nestle India denies using any MSG in Maggi and has reiterated that the product is safe for human consumption. 

A local court in Bihar has also ordered an FIR to be registered against brand ambassadors of Maggi which include Amitabh Bachchan, Madhuri Dixit-nene and Preity Zinta. 

Currently, various state governments including New Delhi, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Haryana, West Bengal and Goa and testing Maggi samples to establish the safety of its contents.
