Dryfruit: Led by almond and walnut, prices drifted at the

wholesale dryfruit market during the week under review due to subdued demand at prevailing levels against adequate stocks in the market.

Increased offerings by stockists coupled with higher arrivals from overseas markets also weighed on prices of select dryfruit.

Marketmen said sentiment weakened largely on fall in demand due to off-season, leading to a fall in prices.

Almond california drifted by Rs 100 to conclude at Rs 16,400-16,800 per 40 kg and its kernel also eased by Rs 5 to finish at Rs 590-600 per kg.

Almond (gurbandi and girdhi) prices declined by up to Rs 500 to Rs 12,000-12,100 and Rs 5,000-5,200 per 40 kg, respectively.

Almond kernel-gurbandi (superior quality) eased by Rs 25 to finish at Rs 725-800 per kg.

Chilgoza (roasted) traded lower at Rs 2,500-2,700 against previous closing of Rs 2,650-2,850 per kg.

Cashew kernel (No 180, 210, 240 and 230) prices fell by Rs 10 each to settle at Rs 1,070-1,080, Rs 940-950, Rs 890-900 and Rs 790-800 per kg, respectively.

Cashew kernel broken (2, 4 and 8 pieces inferior quality) declined up to Rs 15 to close at Rs 670-770, Rs 650-760 and Rs 550-660 per kg, respectively.

Coconut powder (inferior quality) fell by Rs 200 to finish at Rs 4,000-4,400 per quintal.

Kishmish Indian yellow and green prices traded lower at Rs 3,800-4,800 and Rs 5,000-7,500 as compared to previous week's closing of Rs 4,500-5,000 and Rs 5,000-8,500 per 40 kg.

Pistachio hairati and peshawari prices fell up to Rs 70 to end at Rs 1,425-1,450 and aRs 1,525-1,550 per kg, respectively.

In line with a general weak trend, walnut and its kernel prices also drifted lower at Rs 270-800 and Rs 800-1,300 instead of Rs 300-450 and Rs 810-1,460 per kg. (MORE)
