Domestic airlines flew 813.70 lakh passengers in the January - October period, up 23.18% from the 660.60 lakh passengers it flew in the same period last year, data from the Civil Aviation Ministry showed.

In October, SpiceJet flew the most passengers, but only IndiGo's passenger load went up compared to the same period last year. The passenger load or the capacity utilization of the airlines' aircraft, of all the other domestic airlines, was nearly unchanged. 

"The passenger load factor in the month of October 2016, has almost remained constant compared to the previous month primarily due to the end of the tourist season.

SpiceJet's passsenger load factor was the highest at 91.9%, while apart from Air Pegasus (0%), the lowest was Air Carnival's at 58.5%. IndiGo's passenger load was at 84.9%.

While Air Carnival saw the highest number of cancellations, Jet Airways had the least. 

Air India flew 11.77% more domestic passengers, ferrying 121.39 lakh passengers so far this year accounting for 14.9% of the market share. 

In October 2016, Air India received the most complaints while Vistara received the least.
