MUMBAI: The state-run Corporation Bank said on Wednesday its board will meet on September 7 to consider submission of expression of interest in taking over the United Western Bank.

A clutch of banks have expressed similar interest.

The United Western Bank was placed under moratorium by the government, citing poor financials and need to protect depositors.

Corporation Bank shares were up 1.94 percent at Rs 323 in a slightly firm Mumbai market.
