This new product complements the existing Linksys by Cisco consumer router lineup, and is essentially the next generation of the WRT54GL, the company said in a statement.

Created specially for hobbyists and wireless aficionados, this router supports customised third-party firmware, it said.

The router also sports integrated R-SMA antenna connectors. The integrated storage link functionality is designed to allow consumers to connect their USB storage device to the router to create powerful media sharing solutions, the statement said.
