BSNL is launching 3G services in Kerala this month, connecting 21 cities across the state, BSNL (Kerala circle) general manager C Sunitha said today.

The service to be launched here on January 4 will help 2.65 lakh 3G mobile phone subscribers in the state avail the latest 3.5G technology, Sunitha told a press conference here.

BSNL has invested Rs650 crore for the project in Kerala, apart from expanding the existing 2G network to cover more than 95% of BSNL mobile phone subscribers.

Using the 3G services, one could make video calls, access the internet with speed up to 3.6 Mbps, watch live TV on mobile handsets and download contents, the official said.
