YES Bank has appointed Ashok Chawla as its non-executive part-time chairman for three years, the private sector bank said in a press release.

The decision was made after getting an approval from Reserve Bank of India (RBI). 

Chawla assumed charge as the non-executive part-time chairman on October 30, 2016. 

The move came as the term of the current chairperson, Radha Singh, came to an end. 

Chawla, an independent director at the bank, was also appointed on the board on March 5, earlier this year. 

Chawla is also the chairman of the National Stock Exchage, and fo the governing council of The Energy and Reserarch Institute (TERI).

On Sunday, after the mahurat trading session, YES Bank's  shares closed at Rs 1,267.60, down Rs 4,30 or 0.34% from previous close.
