Budget 2021: Complete list of schemes announced by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Union Budget 2021-22

This is the ninth Budget under the Modi government and the third Budget of FM Sitharaman.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented Union Budget 2021-22 in Lok Sabha on Monday (January 1). This budget was special in many ways as it was being presented amidst challenges like coronavirus pandemic. In such a situation, the eyes of common people and special people werre set on the announcements. FM Sitharaman announced a package of Rs 27.1 lakh to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic under the Atmanirbhar Package.

This is the ninth Budget under the Modi government and the third Budget of FM Sitharaman. The Budget is widely expected to focus on boosting spending on job creation and rural development, generous allocations for development schemes, putting more money in the hands of the average taxpayer, and easing rules to attract foreign investments.

Here are the list of important schemes introduced by the Central government:

1. PM Atmanirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana

 PM Aatma Nirbhar Swasth Bharat Yojana, will be launched with an outlay of about Rs 64,180 crore over 6 years. This will develop capacities of primary, secondary, and tertiary care Health Systems, strengthen existing national institutions, and create new institutions, to cater to detection and cure of new and emerging diseases. This will be in addition to the National Health Mission.

 

2. Jal Jeevan Mission

Rs. 2,87,000 crore over 5 years for Jal Jeevan Mission (Urban) - to be launched with an aim to provide:

  • 2.86 crore household tap connections
  • Universal water supply in all 4,378 Urban Local Bodies
  • Liquid waste management in 500 AMRUT cities

3. Ujwala scheme

4. Textile Parks scheme

Mega Investment Textiles Parks (MITRA) scheme, in addition to PLI:
7 Textile Parks to be established over 3 years
Textile industry to become globally competitive, attract large investments and boost employment generation & exports

5. Increasing FDI in Insurance sector

Increasing FDI in Insurance sector

To increase the permissible FDI limit from 49% to 74% and allow foreign ownership and control with safeguards

6. Production Linked Incentive scheme

Production Linked Incentive scheme objectives:

  • Rs. 1.97 lakh crore in next 5 years for PLI schemes in 13 Sectors
  • To create and nurture manufacturing global champions for an AatmaNirbhar Bharat
  • To help manufacturing companies become an integral part of global supply chains, possess core competence and cutting-edge technology
  • To bring scale and size in key sectors
  • To provide jobs to the youth

7. One Nation One Ration card scheme

One Nation One Ration card scheme

  • Remaining 4 states to be integrated in next few months
