How safety of employees amid COVID is top-most priority at ZMCL

In unprecedented times such as this when the world is grappling with a global pandemic, people and organizations have met with untold miseries and losses. The exponential spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted lives and livelihoods, however, it has also taught us how to be self-resilient, self-reliant as well as has proven yet again that health is above everything else.  

As a leading organization, the Essel Group of Industries has always been at the forefront of dealing with a crisis situation and ensuring the safety of its employees before anything else. Taking COVID precautions and being conscious always is very critical in the current scheme of things. We must ensure personal safety, not be casual in our approach, and strictly follow guidelines as the COVID-19 third wave has already arrived and it is badly impacting each one of our lives this way or the other.

As a leading media organization, ZMCL has always believed that checking self-safety throughout the day is the best way to keep our working environment safe. Following COVID guidelines to the T is the best possible way to keep ourselves as well as our workplace safe. In this regard, we at ZMCL and Dish TV have taken a step to minimize team working from the office and manage remotely. Those who are physically coming to the office have been issued guidelines that have to be strictly adhered to. Since the safety of our Zee community and employees is of topmost priority, we have taken appropriate measures like regularly sanitizing the entire campus, mandatory usage of masks, regular health and temperature checks, and also distanced seating arrangements to abide by guidelines of social distancing.

We have encouraged employees, who are coming to the office, to use the Aarogya Setu app and also let the administration know about any symptoms or a COVID result so that that the health of the other employees are not affected.

The new normal means resilience and support from all sections of the company. We have a solid IT infrastructure that helps in seamless operations from anywhere in the world. Remote working has not hindered our workflow in any manner and we continue to grow in a positive direction. Change is the only constant and accepting any form of change makes us future-ready.

Mr. Jawahar Goel is the younger brother of Essel Group Chairman Subhash Chandra Goel and is the Editor-in-Chief of ZMCL and the Managing Director of Dish TV DTH (Dish to Home) satellite services. He was instrumental in aiding Subhash Chandra in the setting up and evolution of Essel Group of companies, which involves holdings as diverse as amusement parks to news media to the education sector.
